This swing stand features the strength-proven A-frame design for durable and reliable support of your 4- or 5-foot swing. Braces on the sides and in the top corners offer reinforcement of this already strong design. Heavy-duty brass hardware is included, as well as assembly instructions.
Constructed of Balau wood, it's durable and weather-resistant. Balau is an extremely dense, oil-rich tropical hardwood. From Southeast Asia, Balau's strength and weather-resistance make it perfect for use in outdoor furniture. Balau is very similar to teak but is said to be denser, strong, and more durable. It also has a warmer, deep honey hue. This wood should be cleaned and treated annually to retain the natural wood color. If left to weather on its own, Balau will weather to grey patina.

The wood has a very pretty stain, the screws didn't match the directions as far as length. But if you are mechanically inclined, it is very easy to figure out fairly quickly. Very study after assembly was completed. We had a new 5' swing built by a different company that fits perfectly. You can't get a better deal for the money. As with any wooden swing and frame, the key is to keep treating with wood protectant and it will give you a lifetime enjoyment.

I bought this frame to use for a toddler swing since we did not have a suitable tree. It works great for this purpose. The assembly instructions were not that great, but we figured them out and two of us put it together in less than an hour. I think the finish is attractive and it seems very sturdy. When the baby outgrows the toddler swing, we can install the adult swing.

The wood in this frame is beautiful and when put together, I'm sure it will be strong but such a simple item should not be so hard to put together. The instructions consist entirely of one half page drawing with lots of dotted lines crossing so that it is difficult to see which bolt is intended for which slot. The bottom half of the page shows the completed item so the instructions are small as well as being confusing. There are no descriptive instructions, just the drawing. The bolts are hard to engage if the wood is not lined up perfectly and I have yet to get them all in the right slots. It has been a very frustrating process. I would recommend the frame to a friend if that person was highly skilled at putting things together and didn't need instructions. The frame is lovely but hard to assemble and it shouldn't be that hard! It is critical the bolts go into the right slots because too long a bolt, and the frame wobbles and isn't tight; too short a bolt and the bolt will not engage with the end. Too bad because the frame is just what I wanted and I think for the amount of money I paid for the frame, it should be an item that can be put together without an engineering degree.

With better instructions. Instruction sheet consists of a page with parts list, and a page with a line drawing of the entire project.
It doesn't seem as sturdy as I had hoped for. We haven't hung the swing, yet, because I need to go to the hardware store and pick up a couple bolts that weren't included in the package.

I was very pleased with this product.
The only shortcomings were the packaging was flimsy, and the instructions were outdated. Although the box it came in was weak no components were damaged. As for the instructions, the list of components didn't match what was in the package; however this seemed due to being out of date. It wasn't hard to figure out how to put it together correctly with the components that came with it. Everything needed was included including the required tools.
It was easy to assemble, taking about 40 minutes and being careful to do it right.
The overall quality was excellent, and I was very happy with the results.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
