All in all, stronger than you'd think. One slat did break, but it was easy to repair with a little Gorilla Glue and an extra piece of slat of my own. I would recommend assembling it with the arm chain on the second to last link, rather than the last link as indicated in the instructions. Assembled as instructed, it feels as if you're leaning forward.
