Swing, Hanging Chains, Optional Hardware with Comfort Springs and Hanging Hooks
The Cedar Classic Porch Swing is made of western red cedar, an excellent and rich-looking wood that is kiln-dried for select-grade quality. The wood is then double-dipped in a UV-protectant oil stain for a rich and beautiful finish. Top it off with smoothly sanded edges and a contoured seat for a very comfortable swing. All edges are sanded smooth.
We think all our porch swings are pretty fantastic, but we also know each one could be even better with a little help. That's why we give you the "hardware" option to add on our comfort springs and hanging hooks. You'll love the security you get with these swing hangers. Each one is covered in high-impact ABS plastic to prevent rusting. The metal comfort springs are pretty much the best porch swing accessory ever. Each one has a 600-lb. weight capacity and they're super shock absorbers. They give your swing a little extra bounce.
Please Note: The custom cushions for this swing are ALZ156-5 ft.cushion and ALZ157- 4 ft. cushion. These can be added to your purchase at check-out.
What We Like About This Porch Swing
The Cedar Classic Swing brings together everything we love about porch swings. It is constructed of quality cedar wood, which is well-suited for outdoor use because it is rot-resistant and is a natural insect-repellent. A wide design and graceful arching backrest seat beckon to be enjoyed. The contoured-for-comfort seat never disappoints.
This wood is not pressure-treated. If your swing is exposed to a great deal of humidity, precipitation, and/or sun, as in coastal or mountain regions, we recommend you treat it with a sealant up to twice a year. If your swing will hang in drier conditions with less weather exposure, we recommend treating it anywhere from once a year to once every two years.
Hanging chains are 7 feet in length. Length from the top of the chain to the inverted "v" is 4.5 feet. This chain is a zinc-plated, 10-gauge wire, sometimes referred to as a double-loop or twin-loop chain. Hanging clearance will depend on how high you hang the swing and the force used to make a swinging motion. And for even more enhanced comfort while you swing, add the spring and hanger sets, offered below.

I purchased this swing for my front porch. It is perfect for the location and was easy to assemble. The workmanship is excellent. I was so happy with this purchase that, when my front patio was completed, I purchased the glider of the same style expecting the same quality as the swing. I was not disappointed.

I got the impression that the swing is so much in demand (probably because of its relatively low price) that they can’t make them fast enough, so quality suffers. For example, some of the seat slats were awful in appearance. Because of the difference in the wood grain of these slats, the harder grain absorbed less stain which resulted in them looking like they have zebra stripes in two very different shades of brown painted on them. And the person who assembled the back put the gaudy-looking things on the seatback where everyone would be sure to see them. I unscrewed them and put them on the seat bottom toward the back where they would not be so prominently in view. While doing this, I discovered that not enough brass screws had been installed to secure the slats, so I substituted sheetrock screws in place of the missing ones.

Replaced a glider and is much more comfortable. Looks good, is comfortable enough that it doesn't need a cushion.

Comments about Most Comfortable! Cedar Classic Porch Swing:
I have a swing in our backyard that I had replaced the canvas twice already. My wife suggested to look at replacing it with a wooden bench. I searched the web a couple days and decided on your product. I don't think I could beat the price anywhere for a quality product. I was extremely pleasantly surprised at the quality and assembly took about 20 minutes! We are very happy with our purchase and glad I found your product on-line. As an added bonus, it arrived just 3 days after purchase. We enjoyed the afternoon today grilling and enjoying our swing. We thank you for making it a great day for us.

Comments about Most Comfortable! Cedar Classic Porch Swing:
Bought this swing as a mother's day gift and it was exactly what we needed. Perfect size, color, and look. feels like really good quality hard wood. Looks great on my mother's back patio. Easy to put together, and a good, appropriate price.
There was a deal on shipping and we were supposed to get the swing the next day after ordering for only $2.99 shipping charge, but it didn't arrive till the second day after- I gave 5 stars because for a 4 ft swing, I think this is still really good.

Comments about Most Comfortable! Cedar Classic Porch Swing:
We compared the dimensions listed to our current porch swing and bought this one because it had similar seat size. This ad lists the seat as 20" but it is really only 16" and is not nearly long enough unless you are a child or very short legged. It hits you under mid thigh and will need to be modified to be comfortable.

Q1: Does this swing come assembled?
A: This swing does require some assembly. It is relatively simple and should only take around 30 minutes to complete.
Q2: I have the 5 ft. Great American Cedar Mission Porch Swing already, can I just order the stand to match? I would like to use the swing where there is not a place to hang it from, and would like the stand to match. Thanks
A: The matching stand for this swing is item RI019 (just type that into the search). You can also purchase this stand during checkout if you don't already have the swing.
Q3: How long is the chain?
A: The hanging chains are 7ft in length.
Q4: I'm adding blocking in my porch ceiling for a swing. How far apart are the chain mounting points and how far should they be from the back wall so the swing doesn't hit the wall at the end of its backward travel? I'm interested in the 5ft model.
A: It is recommended to hang 3 feet from the wall. The chain mountings should be 4 feet 10 1/2 inches apart.
