About Polywood

POLYWOOD® material is made of HDPE plastic resin that has been purified and UV protected. It is generally cared for and cleaned with soap and warm water.
For certain stains and additional cleaning power, a 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water solution can be used on the product without affecting the color.
Also, a popular method of cleaning is a high-pressure power wash. (Not to exceed 1,500 psi, which is the equivalent of a car wash.) The surface characteristics of the product may require the use of a soft bristle brush to get into the creases.
The hardware used in the assembly and construction of our furniture is an 18-8 commercial-grade stainless steel that has an additional Xylan protective and cosmetic coating. Although the quality of the hardware has a high level of corrosive resistance, the hardware can show some sign of corrosion in salt air environments.
A practical solution to these signs of corrosion would be to wash the product with soap and water. Use a soft bristle brush to scrub the corroding areas of the hardware. Also, use appliance touch-up paint in the appropriate color to protect the hardware. Appliance touch up-paint can be purchased at local hardware stores.

We had been looking for a comfortable porch swing. That was the most important factor for us. Along with being comfortable (thanks to it's gently curved back and bench), this swing is solid and very attractive. We also love that it's not 'obviously' not made out of wood. It's beautiful to look at and wonderful to swing on. In addition to the swing we also purchased a set of comfort springs. Who knew that 2 springs could make an already terrific swing even better? Everyone who uses the swing comments on how great they are.
We will be purchasing another swing (and, of course, another set of comfort springs) for the other end of our porch.

I wouldn't order it again, but it's done now, and it looks nice.

I saw this porch swing in the HGTV Magazine. "Yes!" I thought this is for me - no wood to rot, the right color, & not a bad price.
I went on line to order and zoomed in on the picture. That's when I saw it! The chain does not go through the arm, as some high quality swings do, but on the outside of the arm. And if you zoom in on the picture, you will see where the chain has scraped up the arm. Wow, I can't believe they didn't edit that out, but I'm sure glad they didn't. Just saved me fa few hundred. Buyer beware!

This swing was well worth the money we paid for it. We have had it now for 3 yrs. and after power washing it this last weekend we now have a swing looking just like the day we bought it.Very well made. Very little assembly to do before hanging it and enjoying the outdoors in it. So very happy with it so don't think twice just hit the button and get it shipped now so you have it to enjoy like we have. Always remember you get what you pay for.

The swing looks great, however in assembling we noticed that the eye bolts were larger that the machined nut fittings. It was frustrating having to go out to buy hardware that fit.

We bought two swings for a porch. They're very sturdy and not to difficult to assemble. They are very attractive and comfortable. I would suggest you purchase the hanging kit--it makes for a much smoother and relaxing ride.
