The Lakewood Painted Porch Swing features a traditional slatted back anchored between two rounded posts. You and your family will enjoy this charming porch swing season after season. It is constructed of durable kiln-dried ash hardwood and finished with a protective coating of high-quality paint.

4 Foot Swing:
The single piece of chain is 64 inches in length with two shorter pieces measuring 32 inches for an overall length of 96 inches. However, the two shorter lengths are spread to the front and back hooks on the swing, so there is only about 84 inches of usable length in the chain. These are designed for an 8-foot ceiling with some chain left over on the top. And for even more enhanced comfort while you swing, add the spring and hanger set, offered below.
About the Hinkle Chair Company
For over 170 years, the Hinkle family has been making quality hardwood furniture in the same location in Springfield, Tennessee. Between the 1950s and 1990s, they focused almost solely on the production of rocking chairs due to high demand for their quality rockers. But in 1996, the company expanded with two new buildings- one to house production facilities, the other to house a state of the art finishing system. I purchased this swing because it was an outstanding value - great price, quality finish, easy to assemble and attractive. It upgrades the look of our screened in porch and the addition of the porch swing hangers and metal comfort springs only add to the positive experience. [...] My final decision was based on the positive comments I read here and I was ready to install thanks to customers' remarks about what I would need from the hardware store to complete the project (lag bolts, extra chain, s hooks). We got the Lakewood in Danish Walnut, and have three disappointments: (1) The wooden slats that comprise the entire seating surface are STAPLED to the framing pieces. The resultant staple mark depressions are not filled in, leaving a cheap pock-marked look that is very noticeable; (2) The stain finish appears to be a combined stain/polyurethane product that was sprayed on. It looks like a cheap finish and has a reflective semi-gloss sheen that we find too glossy; (3) The hanging chains are the cheap kids swingset type, made of bright galvanized metal. They distract and take away from the look of the swing.
The swing itself is stylish, comfortable and otherwise sturdy. Why the manufacturer chose to use inappropriate (read cheap) construction techniques and materials is beyond me.

Took entirely too long to receive and is really nothing special. I would recommend Lowe's, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, a local hammock and swing retailer, etc.

I was looking to replace our old porch swing, which had deteriorated over time. I shopped around for quite awhile online to be sure I was going to get a good quality porch swing. I did not want to have to return a bad porch swing in the mail. After visiting this website several times and comparing the black painted wooden porch swings, I decided to go with this one. The reviews were pretty favorable. I got exactly what I had hoped for. My 9 year old son and I put it together in about an hour. There were no missing parts or hardware, and they even included little tools to tighten most of the hardware. It looks beautiful on our front porch and i know we will enjoy swinging in it all summer long!!

Easy to assemble- and I'm not mechanically inclined. The pictures representing each step of assembly were clear and easy to follow. The chains were long enough to reach my high porch ceiling. It looks and feels durable. I'm really happy with it and highly recommend.
