Constructed of Balau wood, these pieces are durable and weather resistant. Balau is an extremely dense, oil-rich tropical hardwood. From Southeast Asia, Balau's strength and weather-resistance make it perfect for use in outdoor furniture. Balau is very similar to teak but is said to be denser, stronger and more durable. It also has a warmer, deep honey hue. This wood should be cleaned and treated annually to retain the natural wood color. If left to weather on its own, Balau will fade to a grey patina.
